Magnolia Syrup

🌱 Ingredients:

400ml water

300g sugar

50-150g magnolia petals

🌱 Instructions:

  1. The more petals you use, the stronger the taste and the darker the color will be. 150g petals will give a golden brown color like honey. If you want light pink syrup, choose dark pink flowers and use only 50g petals.

  2. Heat the sugar and water mixture until it starts boiling. Cook for an additional 5 minutes or until the mixture thickens and the texture sticks to your hands like regular syrups. Pour the mixture over the washed petals and let them dry.

  3. Cover to preserve the scent, let it soak for at least 3 hours and then drain out the petals. Store in airtight bottles in the fridge for up to one month.

  4. The mixture can be soaked for up to 24 hours, the syrup will have a very strong floral scent.
