Making a Living Doing What I Love

It was an early summer day in May when the sun went down.

I, in my white dress, shook my head, tossed my hair that shielded my eyes against the golden sunlight. T told me that particular moment made his heart sink.

It was the first time we went to Greece together, first time we went to work together. Too many first time things from that trip.

Back then, I used to be a destination wedding photographer.
I love traveling, outdoor and seeking adventures - thanks to my profession and passion, I have been to 30 countries capturing people's love stories: Kenya, Morocco, Argentina, Myanmar, India, Singapore, Vietnam, Iceland, Italy, Spain, France, Macedonia, Thailand...

"To unpathed waters, undreamed shores... For my part, I travel not to go anywhere, but to go. I travel for travel’s sake. The great affair is to move."

Then came Alexia.

“Life has been some combination of fairy-tale coincidence and joie de vivre and shocks of beauty together with some hurtful self-questioning."

I adore this particular quote by Sylvia Plath so much because it reflects the true meaning of life.

It just happens.

So I happened to stop traveling to be a full-time stay at home mom.

It was beautiful. It was unique. It was scary and full of challenges.

From traveling the world, Alexia and my 86m2 apartment has become my whole world.

It all starts with very small things. I started decorating the apartment while Alexia took a nap or when she was in a good mood.

Making a home, DIYing and learning new skills was a great way to fight depression and my anxiety disorder.

I started sharing my thoughts and how I do things on my Facebook.

I started getting beautiful messages from “strangers” that the little things I did inspire them. Then families, friends ... everyone started to encourage me to make some videos. But it took me a long time to officially go down that road.

One day, deep in the foggy season of winter in Germany, I wanted to start recording the endless stream of collected moments of our family. In words, and images. That's how I embarked on my Youtube channel journey.

Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine that one day I could make a living by showing a very small part of our life on Youtube. I couldn't do it without all of you - 1 million people who have been tuning in and experiencing those precious memories with us. You're helping me make a living doing what I love.
I don't know how is this journey going to be but there is one thing I know for sure: No matter what I do, I will do more, go more and love more.
